Cops Hope Clearer Images Of 'Well-Dressed Groper' Lead To Arrest

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- He's well-dressed, dangerous and still on the loose.

Police released crystal clear images on Thursday of the man dubbed the "Well-Dressed Groper," who is believed to be responsible for at least four forcible touching incidents in Manhattan in recent months.

Police had collected grainy surveillance shots in previous incidents. The new versions are from March 30 and provide the clearest look at the suspect's face yet.

The release of the images comes just days after charges were dropped against Karl Vanderwoude, the 26-year-old businessman originally arrested for the crimes.

He was picked out of a police lineup, but insisted he wasn't anywhere near the locations of the attacks when they took place.

The Manhattan District Attorney cleared him after he provided an alibi and video to prove it.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at www.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.com or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.

All calls are strictly confidential.
