NYPD: Suspect Arrested For Stealing Headphones, Slashing Man On Bronx Subway Platform

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A suspect who was wanted for slashing a subway rider while trying to steal his Beats By Dr. Dre headphones has been arrested, police said.

Francisco Delacruz, 22, was arrested Tuesday on robbery and assault charges.

Last week, police said he walked up to a man on the platform of the East Burnside Avenue and Jerome Avenue No. 4 train station in the Bronx and took his headphones from his bag.

When the victim tried to get his headphones back, the suspect slashed him on the face and neck with a sharp object, police said.

The incident was caught on cell phone video by other riders waiting on the subway platform.

Meanwhile, police in Nassau County are looking for three suspects who they said stole a pair of the pricey Beats By Dr. Dre headphones from a 16-year-old in South Floral Park.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Marguerite Avenue and Emma Street.

Three men walked up to the teen and as one of the suspect's punched the boy, a second yanked the headphones off his head, police said.

The three then took off.

Anyone with information is asked to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
