Teens At Children's Health Center Celebrate Prom In Style

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- Teenagers across the country are getting ready to celebrate prom season and patients at the Komansky Center For Children's Health aren't missing a beat.

In-patient and out-patient teenagers held their own prom on Saturday. The event was planned to help them celebrate their triumphs over injuries, illnesses, and other challenges; and to fulfill the right of passage of attending the prom.

Gowns for the event were donated by Suzi Chin for Maggy Boutique and by Men's Wearhouse, professional stylists and makeup artists used products provided by Bloomingdale's and Revlon. The event was Grammy themed, and prior to an evening of dancing and dining, teens walked the red carpet to capture their prom memories with a celebrity style photo shoot.
