The first accident occurred just before midnight. EMS officials said that nine pedestrians were struck by a car and seven were taken to Staten Island North Hospital with serious injuries, while the other two refused treatment. Cops arrested the driver for driving under the influence.

The second incident occurred at about 4:30 on Sunday morning. A car drove off the road -- taking out signs -- and slammed into a house on Richmond Avenue. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs.

The owner of the house told 1010 WINS' Glenn Schuck that this is the third time a car has hit his home. This time, the car went into the bedroom where his granddaughter would have been sleeping. Thankfully, she was away on vacation at Hershey Park.
