Dharun Ravi Likely To Be Released On Tuesday After Serving 20 Days Of 30-Day Sentence

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The former Rutgers student convicted in a webcam spying scandal is expected to go free on Tuesday.

The Middlesex County Jail Warden said that Dharun Ravi will likely be released after serving 20 days of a 30-day sentence.

Like inmates with similar sentences, Ravi began with five days of credit for good behavior and five days of credit for working.

Ravi's freshmen-year roommate, Tyler Clementi, committed suicide on September 22nd, 2010, just days after Ravi spied on his romantic encounter with another man.
