NYPD: Brooklyn Boy, 15, Dies After June Shooting

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A 15-year-old Brooklyn boy who was shot in the head last month has died.

Police say Akeal Christopher died Tuesday at Brookdale Hospital after being taken off life support on his 15th birthday.

The teen was walking home from a party with at least one friend when they encountered a group of teens at the corner of Cornelia Street and Evergreen Avenue in Brooklyn just before 11 a.m. on June 27.

Police say Christopher was shot once in the head.

There have been no arrests.
