Teenage Upstate New York Girl Confesses To Shooting, Killing Father With A Rifle To The Head

TROY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) - Police said that a 17-year-old upstate New York girl aimed a rifle at her father's head before killing him after the two argued over his ATM card.

The Times Union of Albany reported that Trinity Copeland confessed the shooting to investigators.

The newspaper said that Trinity called 911 early on Friday to report that her father, Harlan Copeland, had been shot in his Troy apartment.

The Times Union added that the two had been arguing over Trinity's repeated use of her father's ATM card against his wishes. The teen told police that her father ordered her to kill him, or he would kill them both, according to the newspaper.

Trinity was arraigned on second-degree murder charges.

She declined to comment before she was driven off by police from the station.
