NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – The family of a missing Westchester County college student is anxiously awaiting test results on a human skull found underwater.

20-year-old Lauren Spierer vanished 13 months ago while attending college at Indiana University.

A fisherman recently found a human skull about 50 miles from Bloomington, where Spierer was last seen. And now, the family is waiting for word if the remains belong to Lauren.

The Spierer’s shared the following statement on Facebook: “In the days ahead, a family will have answers that they have been desperately seeking. Will it be ours? When will you end this nightmare for our family? We will never give up.”
