“The adult male driver of the vehicle was preparing to exit onto Motor Parkway in Brentwood, when he was unable to negotiate the turn,” said Suffolk County Police Spokesperson Ryan Defelippis.
“The vehicle went off the road onto a grassy median, then went airborne and crashed into the back of a 7-Eleven,” she told reporters.READ MORE: 2 Islanders Games Postponed Amid COVID-19 Outbreak
During the crash, the child’s car seat was thrown from the vehicle, causing her to sustain serious injuries. She was transported to Southside Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
Her mother was also transported to a local hospital and listed in less-than-serious condition.
