House Fire Rages In Montvale As Firefighters Also Battle Heat Outside

MONTVALE, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - While some of the Tri-State area is getting rained on, it is, unfortunately, not raining where emergency crews have responded to a house fire in Montvale.

WCBS 880's Jim Smith reported that firefighters from neighboring towns are at the scene of the blaze at 2 Windsor Road.

Earlier Monday afternoon, this home went up in flames. There is no word that anyone was in the house when the fire started.

Pockets of flame could be seen up near the roof of the structure with white smoke still billowing out.

The firefighters are using a ladder truck and a bucket to try and spray streams of water up there near the roof.

Authorities on the scene were not yet commenting on what might have happened to cause this fire, or if there are any other injuries.

They said that the Bergen County Prosecutor won't be making any statement to the press.

On this hot and humid day, there was also a cooling station set up here for the first responders. There is a tent and a misting fan.

It's also worth noting that the house had a "for sale" sign.
