Barclays Center (and it's just Barclays Center, no "the") will join Madison Sqaure Garden, the Prudential Center, IZOD Center, and the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in trying to attract concerts and events.

WCBS 880 reporter Peter Haskell spoke with developer, Brooklyn Nets minority owner, and Forest City Ratner CEO Bruce Ratner about the new facility.

"What you see here is almost complete interior of the arena," Ratner told Haskell as he looked out over over what will be the floor of Barclays Center. "You're going to feel more like you're on top of the action than any arena that anybody has been in."

He said fans will also appreciate how bright it is on the inside.

"So, there's a lot of light and a lot of glass along the concourses," he said.

Ratner said the menu will reflect is borough.

"We got more food varieties and the best food in the world is right here in Brooklyn," he said.

Even though it doesn't open until September 28, Ratner feels it's already a success. Events are booked for more than 200 nights.

"We're getting the best acts you can possibly get, the best artists," Ratner said.

Ratner's vision also includes 17 towers at this site at Atlantic Yards.
