Survey: The W Hotel Is Top Spot For Cheaters In New York City

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Some hotels are known for having the best restaurants or the best health clubs.

But one New York City hotel is tops for cheating.

The luxurious W Hotel on Lexington Avenue topped the list of 10 city hotels as the most popular spot to cheat on a spouse, according to AshleyMadison.com, an online dating service for cheaters.

More than 3,000 members responded to the survey.

The Holiday Inn on West 57th Street came in second. The Sofitel rounded out the list.

Ashley Madison founder Noel Biderman told the New York Post that first-timers usually pick pricier rooms but people go for cheaper places on second and third dates.

Some hotel staffers admit they will try to protect their regular customers from prying eyes, including suspicious spouses, the Post reported.
