Parents Of Fallen L.I. Marine To Bring Son Home

OCEANSIDE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- The parents of a Marine killed in Afghanistan will travel to Delaware Monday to bring his body home to Long Island for burial.

Lance Cpl. Greg Buckley Jr. was killed Friday, according to his family. He was among three Marines gunned down by an Afghan police officer.

In a recent letter to his father, Buckley wrote he'd been confronted by an Afghan officer and feared for his life.

"My son said 'Daddy, I'm scared,'" said Greg Buckley Sr. "I didn't tell my wife or my boys but he said 'Dad I'm scared. I don't want to be here no more. Something could happen to me.'"

Buckley turned 21 two weeks ago. He was scheduled to return home to Oceanside to visit his family on Wednesday.

Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano has ordered flags be flown at half-staff Monday in honor of Buckley and his fellow Marines who were killed.
