The Moms: Education & Parenting

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Education is an issue on the minds of many parents these days.

The Moms, Melissa Gerstein and Denise Albert, recently held an event with the stars of the new film "Won't Back Down, " which has to do with parents fighting to reform a failing public school. The ladies, Viola Davis, Rosie Perez and Maggie Gyllenhaal, talked about their feelings on the subject.

Gyllenhaal, a parent herself, is raising two kids in Brooklyn. The actress was brutally honest about her feelings on the uncomfortable connection between wealth and educational choices.

"The truth is, if you're rich, you can afford to educate your kids however you want," Gyllenhaal said. "IF you're poor, you can't. And that's not right."
