U.S. Air Force Week Underway In New York City
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Fighter jet flyovers are planned through Tuesday, to mark Air Force Week 2012.
The Air Force Thunderbirds are conducting the flyovers.
Things kicked off Saturday, when F-16D fighter jets flew in formation over Yankee Stadium before their game against the Boston Red Sox.
There was another flyover Sunday at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in conjunction with the opening ceremony for Air Force Week NYC.
The Mets will get a flyover on Monday evening, ahead of their game against the Colorado Rockies. And on Tuesday, the military jets will conduct a flyover ahead of the Brooklyn Cyclones game.
All flyovers are weather-permitting, and all local airports have been notified.
