More than 100,000 spectators expected over the six-day PGA event at Bethpage State Park, along with some of the best golfers in the world.
"The pairings are done on Thursday and Friday by points. So, as it happens, right now, Tiger [Woods] is number one, Rory's [McIlroy] number two. So they will be paired together for the Thursday and Friday rounds. So that's a pretty exciting pairing," Baclays Executive Director Pete Mealey told WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs.
Other big names in competition are Phil Mickelson, Rickie Fowler, and 2011 Barclays champion Dustin Johnson.
"Bethpage is the crown jewel," Mealey told Xirinachs. "It is one of the best courses in the country."
Heavy traffic is expected in the area and spectators are reminded to take the Long Island Rail Road to Farmingdale where free shuttle buses will carry you to the event.
