Central Islip School Teacher Accused Of DWI, Resisting Arrest

EASTPORT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island school teacher has been arrested on driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest charges.

Jay Condrill, 47, was apparently asked to the leave the Triangle Pub on Old Montauk Highway in Eastport around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday for reportedly acting in a disorderly manner.

Condrill at first agreed but later came back to the bar, police said.

Officers got a call from the pub and when they arrived, police said Condrill looked intoxicated as he got out of his car.

When officers tried to arrest Condrill, police said he threatened to hurt them and refused orders to place his hands behind his back.

Officers had to use physical force and a Taser to take Condrill into custody, police said.

Condrill, who is a teacher at the Central Islip School District, is charged with driving while intoxicated, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
