NEW YORK (WFAN) — Congratulations to Joe Giglio from Howell, N.J., this year’s Fantasy Phenom winner!

Joe will host his own weekly show on WFAN, starting in the fall. “I will give my best and am excited to get going,” Giglio said during the announcement on WFAN.

Five talented hopefuls had their chance on Friday to impress afternoon-drive host Mike Francesa, the live crowd at Bar A in Lake Como, N.J., and the voting public. Giglio, who graduated from DeSales University in 2008, was the listeners’ choice with 27.51 percent of the vote.

“We’ve been very pleased with our first two winners and look forward to Joe doing a great job this time around,” said WFAN operations manager and CBS Radio New York vice president of programming Mark Chernoff. “We thank all of our participants and special kudos to our five finalists, who had to perform both for a huge radio audience on WFAN, but also to our online listeners at, our YES TV viewers and the few thousand people who saw them live at Bar A.”

WFAN would like to thank the many who participated in Fantasy Phenom — Year III. A lifelong Yankees and Giants fan, Giglio has the distinction of joining past Fantasy Phenom winners John Jastremski (2011) and Gregg Sussman (2010).

James Buzzone, Dan Girard, James Flippin and three-time finalist Patrick Creighton were also in the running for the grand prize.
