NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Power in Co-op City in the Bronx has been restored after an overnight outage left thousands in the dark and trapped more than two dozen people inside building elevators.

Co-op City runs its own power, but the generator shut down around midnight Thursday. Thirty-five buildings in the huge apartment complex were affected.
