'Tan Mom' Raises Eyebrows With Raucous Onstage Appearance At NYC Nightclub

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- "Tan mom" Patricia Krentcil, best known for being accused of putting her 6-year-old daughter in a tanning booth, is back in the spotlight -- but this time it was on stage at a nightclub in New York City.

Krentcil made an appearance at Lady Bunny and Bianca Del Rio's weekly HOT MESS Wednesday night drag show at the XL nightclub on West 42nd Street.

Billed on the club's website as the "Redhot Media Sensation," YouTube video shows a seemingly drunk Krentcil staggering a bit on stage while being led by one of the performers to a chair. On the way, she danced and posed for the crowd in a tight red dress.

To the laughter and applause of a rowdy crowd, Krentcil said "I never took my daughter into a tanning salon."

In the video, she then seems to flip the bird to the audience before screaming into the microphone when she was asked by the host if there was anything she'd like to clear up about her case.

"Number one is that my daughter never was in that salon," she said, grabbing at the mic. "This place is the best place ever -- but my daughter was never in that room."

Krentcil then continued to repeat over and over again that she did not bring her daughter into a tanning booth. Her speech became garbled and difficult to comprehend.

In the video, she ends her appearance with a big "F--- You" and a "shut up" to the audience before toasting the crowd with a glass of red wine in hand.

Since making headlines, the 44-year-old Nutley mother of five, who has her own extremely deep tan, has been the inspiration for a "tanorexic" doll by manufacturer HeroBuilders.

Earlier this month, she was in the pages of "In Touch" magazine posing without her trademark tan after the magazine challenged her to go without the rays -- real or fake -- for a month.

Many said at the time they were impressed by her new natural look.

Krentcil pleaded not guilty in May to a child endangerment charge.

Prosecutors allege Krentcil took her daughter to a tanning salon and actually brought the child into a tanning bed, causing a slight sunburn.

But Krentcil has said that the entire situation was simply a misunderstanding.

She said when the school nurse asked her daughter how she got burned, her daughter simply said, "'I go tanning with mommy.'" However, Krentcil said her daughter's burn was not from getting into a tanning bed, but from being outside and playing in the backyard.

"The whole thing's preposterous," Krentcil said back in May.
