Yankees, WCBS 880 Agree To Extend Current Radio Broadcast Agreement

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The Yankees and WCBS 880 announced on Thursday that they have agreed to extend their current radio broadcast agreement.

The agreement will run through the 2013 campaign.

The station will air all regular and postseaon games, in addition to select Spring Training games.

Speculation for months suggested that the Yankees would sign with ESPN Radio at the end of season. The Bronx Bombers have been with WCBS 880 since 2002.

John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman, who have called Yankees game side by side since 2005, are expected to return to the booth for at least another season.

Yankees broadcasts have always been aired locally on the AM dial -- beginning in 1939 -- and were at one time heard on 1010 WINS.
