9/11 Web Tribute Planned By NYPD

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The NYPD will honor police officers killed on Sept. 11 on Twitter and Facebook.

The department on Tuesday will post messages on Twitter once an hour for each NYPD victim with links to individual memorial Facebook pages.

The messages will be posted before the officers' names are officially read at the 11th anniversary ceremony, The New York Post reported.

The police department's official Twitter account is @NYPDnews. Each tweet will be searchable through "#neverforget.''

The FDNY is also using social media to honor those who died on 9/11.

On their Twitter page, @FDNY, they ask followers to share their thoughts and memories through "#Honor911."
