NYPD Hunts Occupy Wall Street Rape Suspect

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The NYPD wants your help finding a rape suspect.

A 56-year-old woman was raped and hurled two stories to the ground Early Monday morning by her attacker, police said.

The victim was in Manhattan to mark the anniversary of the Occupy Wall Street protest.

Jackie Barcliff forced her to the elevated level of Pier 15 park near the East River, raped her, and tossed her over the railing to the ground below, police said. The victim suffered serious injuries including a broken pelvis.

Barcliff, 44, was arrested in December for assault and resisting arrest at the site of an Occupy Wall Street protest, police said. Barcliff had previously attended other OWS gatherings and that the victim recognized him, according to police.
