Police: Westchester Mother Charged In 4-Year-Old Son's Suspicious Death
MAMARONECK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A 4-year-old boy was found dead inside an apartment at 1035 East Boston Post Road on Monday morning. Police said the boy's mother was charged with his murder later that night.
Investigators removed several bags of evidence from the apartment in Mamaroneck, where the child's body and his half-conscious mother were found.
The mother, Manuela Reish, was officially charged Monday night. Police said Reish was involved in a custody dispute with the boy's father.
Police said a family member called 911 around 10:20 a.m. asking officers to check on the well-being of the 46-year-old woman who lived there. The relative was there to help the mother move out, family sources told CBS 2.
When officers arrived, police said, they found the little boy dead and his mother in a semi-conscious state, CBS 2's Dick Brennan reported.
