LeSean McCoy: Feud With Giants' Osi Umenyiora Is Over

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- It seems the NFL's most bitter -- and oftentimes juvenile -- feud is over.

It wasn't quite the Hatfields and McCoys, but the bad blood between Eagles running back LeSean McCoy and Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora reached such strange heights that a truce seemed all but impossible.

Until now.

"It's time to get over this Osi and LeSean thing," McCoy told WIP radio in Philadelphia on Monday. "After the game (Umenyiora) said, 'Hey man, you're a heck of a player. We're in this business, let's get over this.' He said, 'Let's be done with it.' "

"Being a bigger man, also for myself, you've got to focus on the Giants," he added. "And my goal is not an individual battle with Osi. It's with the Giants, and trying to get a Super Bowl."

MORE FROM CBS PHILADELPHIA

McCoy, who recently called Umenyiora "a ballerina in a Giants uniform," rushed for 123 yards in the Eagles' 19-17 win over New York on Sunday.

The Giants' defensive star may have lost the latest off- and on-field battles, but make no mistake -- he's gotten in his licks.

Responding to an unsolicited tweet from McCoy that called Umenyiora "overrated," "soft," and the "3rd best" defensive lineman on his team, the 30-year-old blasted back by referring to Philadelphia's top running back as "Lady Gaga" and "a little girl."

"What he did was unforgivable," Umenyiora said at the time. "He ran his mouth. He crossed the line that shouldn't have been crossed."

Umenyiora renewed the feud in May when he tweeted, "Happy Mothers Day Lesean Mccoy! Enjoy your special day!!"

McCoy admitted there was some pre-game tension on Sunday, but apparently it ended there -- for good.

"We crossed paths a couple times, we gave each other the eye," he said. "Even in the warmups we looked at each other funny."

Now that it's over, how would you score the Osi-LeSean feud? Be heard in the comments below...
