Police: Victim Fights Off Would-Be Rapist In Queens Park

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a suspect wanted in a brazen attack on a teen in Queens.

The suspect tried to rape a 17-year-old girl inside Peck Park in the Auburndale section on Aug. 21 around 10:30 p.m., the NYPD said.

The suspect approached the victim and knocked her to the ground before the teen was able to kick the suspect in the chest and get away.

The suspect is described as a white man, between 40 and 50 years old, 5-foot-11 and 225 pounds. He spoke with an Eastern European accent, police said.

Authorities also released a sketch of the suspect late Monday night.
