New Yorkers Get First Taste Of Sbarro's New Pizza

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Looking for some free lunch today?

In connection with National Pizza Month, one Sbarro location in Manhattan is giving New Yorkers the first taste of their new pizza for free.

The eatery, which first opened in the 1950s in Brooklyn, is going back to its Italian roots with its new Neapolitan-style pizza. The recipe uses dough made from scratch daily, vine ripened whole peeled tomatoes and freshly shredded whole milk mozzarella.

An antique pizza truck will be serving free slices of the new pizza outside the Sbarro at 47th Street and Seventh Avenue until 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The eatery will also be accepting donations for City Harvest at the event.

Sbarro has over 1,000 locations in more than 40 countries.
