Big Apple Burgers
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Difficulty Level: Easy
Yield: 6-8 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 1 apple (preferably Gala)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 package of hamburger buns
  • 8 slices of provolone cheese
  • 8 bacon strips (cooked)
  • Barbecue sauce

Directions:

Core the apple and place the wedges in a food processer. Chop the apple into tiny chunks so it will blend nicely with the ground beef.   In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped apple and cinnamon until well mixed. Form eight patties. The patties can be cooked immediately or chilled until the grill is ready.

Cook patties on a grill, either outdoor or indoor, to your particular taste. Within the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheese on top to allow it to melt over the burger. When done, place the patty in a bun and add a folded slice of bacon and barbecue sauce for the best mix of flavors. Grill the buns for a minute or so to add a nice layer of crispness and warmth.
