NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Metropolitan Transportation Authority Chairman Joseph Lhota has apologized, after saying Mayor Michael Bloomberg acted “like an idiot” when he predicted the Queens-Midtown tunnel might open early.
Lhota was on a call with New York director of state operations Howard Glaser Thursday, and a New York Times reporter was present at the time. Lhota told Glaser the tunnel could open Friday, and said Bloomberg, “like an idiot,” publicly predicted that the tunnel might not open until the weekend, according to the New York Times report.READ MORE: 10-Year-Old Boy Found Dead In Harlem, Police Investigating
