Nassau County DA: Week Before Thanksgiving Is Deadly For Motorists

MINEOLA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- In what is considered a very deadly week on the roadways, the Nassau County District Attorney has put out a warning to motorists.

As WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported, Nassau County DA Kathleen Rice called the day before Thanksgiving a particularly deadly day.

"Historically, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving is the day on which more young drivers are killed and get into crashes," Rice said. "It's just a fact."

Rice has reminded everyone who plans to drink to get a designated driver.

She also advised parents to be involved in warning their children of the dangers of getting behind the wheel drunk.
