5 Injured In Fight At Birthday Party In New Jersey

PATERSON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Five people were injured early Sunday when a fight broke out during a teenager's birthday party in New Jersey.

About 150 guests were in attendance at the party at a rental hall owned by St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church at 17 Olive St. in Paterson when the brawl broke out around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, according to NorthJersey.com.

Authorities said the fight involved some party guests and some "outsiders."

Four of the five victims, who ranged in age from 18 to 43, were treated at a hospital for stab wounds, while the other victim was treated there for a facial injury suffered when they were punched, NorthJersey.com reported. One of the stabbing victims was admitted to the hospital, but further details on that person's condition were not disclosed.

It was not clear what sparked the large fight.
