NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Legendary musician Neil Young is set to play a benefit concert for superstorm Sandy relief this week in Atlantic City.

Young and his band Crazy Horse will play Thursday night at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa.

Young said he hopes to raise several hundred thousand dollars to the American Red Cross storm relief effort.

In an interview Sunday, Young said he wanted to do what he could to help, since fans in Sandy-impacted areas have supported him for 40 years.

Ahead of the benefit concert, Young will play a show Monday night at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and Tuesday in Bridgeport, Conn.
