2 Suspects Held In Shooting Of Paterson, N.J., Man

PATERSON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Two 24-year-old northern New Jersey residents were facing attempted murder charges Sunday, in connection with the shooting of a man in Paterson last month.

Brian Curry, of Wayne, and Ashley Conklin, of Highland Lakes, were being held on $750,000 and $600,000 bail, respectively, on Sunday. Both suspects were arrested on Friday in Vernon.

Curry and Conklin were both charged with attempted murder, while Curry was also hit with weapons charges.

Paterson police said the 27-year-old male victim was shot in the arm Nov. 15.

The man told police he was walking when a vehicle pulled up and someone inside demanded that he turn over his property. He declined and was shot as he tried to run away.

Authorities said the victim has recovered from his wound.
