Pedestrian Killed In Hit-And-Run In Rosedale, Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police Wednesday evening were investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian dead in the Rosedale section of Queens.

Around 3:17 a.m. Wednesday, police received a call of a pedestrian struck by a car at Francis Lewis Boulevard and 246th Street in Queens.

Officers found the 31-year-old man unresponsive with severe injuries to his body. Paramedics took him to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

A primary investigation determined that the man was hit by a vehicle that was headed in an unknown direction. The driver then sped off.

Police had not released the identity of the victim as of Wednesday night.
