"What we call our Winter's Feast Celebration," said Em Findley of God's Love We Deliver.

She told WCBS 880's Jim Smith that they're dishing out more than 3,200 meals to those battling serious illnesses.

"We have Cornish hen, Brussel sprouts, a ginger bread cake, things like that," she said.

An army of 900 volunteers is fanning out across the five boroughs of New York City as well as Hudson County, New Jersey.

"We cook and deliver a guest meal so that none of our clients have to spend the holiday alone," she said.

In return, she said volunteers are greeted with plenty of smiles from those thankful for a warm holiday meal.

"It's a really wonderful experience," she said.

Findley said that their work isn't limited to the holidays. Throughout the year, they provide one million meals.
