Woman Sexually Assaulted Along FDR Drive On Lower East Side

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The New York City Police Department says a woman was sexually assaulted in a midday attack on the Lower East Side.

The incident took place at around 11:45 a.m. That's when police say a man - described as a teenager wearing a grey sweatshirt and green pants - attacked a woman near the running track area along the FDR Drive and Delancey Street.

The man threw the woman to the ground and tried to strip off her clothes, police said.

The woman suffered cuts and bruises.

Police have fanned out in the area, looking for the suspect.
