Man Killed, Woman Wounded In East Flatbush Shooting

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police Monday night were searching for the assailant who fired the shots that killed a man and wounded a woman in East Flatbush, Brooklyn.

At 5:07 p.m. Monday, police responded to a call of shots fired at 61 E. 42nd St. in Brooklyn. At the scene, they found John Kellan, 22, of the East 42nd Street address, unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The woman, 27, was discovered at the scene with a gunshot wound to the left leg.

Kellan was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was taken to Kings County Hospital Center, where she was listed in stable condition, police said. A more specific condition was not released.

As of Monday night, there was no one in custody and the investigation continued.
