New Facebook App 'Help, I Have The Flu' Finds Out Who Got You Sick

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Got the flu?

The creators of a new app suggest playing the blame game could make you feel better.

The Facebook app called "Help, I Have The Flu" includes a "Who made me sick button?" that aims to help you "find out who among your friends is responsible for your misery."

By scanning profiles for keywords such as "sneezing" and "achy," the app is supposed to determine which one of your Facebook friends spread his or her germs.

You can then send a message to the culprit or send some help through the drug company that runs the app, Help Remedies.

1010 WINS' John Montone spoke to some people in Times Square who said all the app will do is cost them friends and not make them feel any better.

"That might break up a couple of friendships," one man said.

"I guess you can be mad at them for a little bit but it's not going to help your case," one woman said.

Others believe the app will come in handy.

"I've kissed many girls and I've wondered which one of them gave me the flu," Joel, from Australia, said.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said this is shaping up to be one of the more severe flu seasons in recent years.

Symptoms of the flu include fever, coughing, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle or body aches, headaches and fatigue.
