Stamford Man Arrested On Child Pornography Charges

STAMFORD, Conn. (CBSNewYork) - Stamford Police arrested a 69-year-old man who they think downloaded child porn and peeped at schoolchildren.

Police said they started investigating Roland Roqueta in Oct. 2012 after discovering hundreds of downloads of child pornography to his address on Stillwater Avenue.

Once they began their investigation, they realized the home was right next to Westover elementary school.

Police said they do not believe any children at the school were approached or contacted by Roqueta. However they did find two pairs of binoculars they believe he used to observe the school.

Roqueta is charged with possession of child pornography, importing child pornography, and promoting a minor in an obscene performance.

He is being held on $150,000 bond.

Police say Roqueta is being cooperative with their investigation.
