Weekend Means Service Changes On Several Subway Lines
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Service changes are underway on several subway lines through the weekend.
Until 5 a.m. Monday, 179th Street/Queens-bound F trains will be rerouted to the M train between 47th-50th streets and Roosevelt Avenue. Jamaica-bound service will not be available at 57th Street, Lexington Avenue/63rd Street, Roosevelt Island or 21st Street-Queensbridge.
F trains will also run express from Queens Plaza to Roosevelt Avenue.
Meanwhile, No. 7 train service is once again suspended between Queensboro Plaza and Times Square-42nd Street, also until 5 a.m. Monday. The recurring weekend service suspension on the No. 7 line has brought frustration for some commuters.
Changes are also in place for the weekend on the No. 4 and 5 lines. Until 5 a.m. Monday, Brooklyn Bridge-bound No. 6 trains will run express from 14th Street-Union Square to the Brooklyn Bridge stop, and there will be no No. 5 trains between East 180th Street and Bowling Green.
No. 2 and No. 4 trains provide alternate service in lieu of the No. 5.
On the R line, Forest Hills-bound trains will skip Prince Street, 8th Street, 23rd Street and 28th Street throughout the weekend. Meanwhile, Coney Island-bound N trains will run on the D line from 36th Street to Stillwell Avenue, and Q train service is extended to Ditmars Boulevard.
