Two People Rescued From Passaic River, Hospitalized With Non-Life Threatening Injuries

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ(CBSNewYork) -- Two people were rescued from the Passaic River on Saturday night, according to authorities.

Rescue teams arrived in time to save a male and a female after one of the victims called 911 on a cell phone.

The rescue took close to an hour to perform and involved a boat from the New Providence Fire Department. The victims have been taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
