L.I. Man Charged With Threatening Town Employee Over Parking Ticket

HUNTINGTON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A man was hit with serious charges after yelling threats at a Huntington town employee over a parking ticket.

Robert Murphy, 55, was arrested Saturday morning, after showing up to the Huntington Town Hall and going into a rage over a parking summons, Suffolk County police said.

Murphy yelled threats at a town employee, police said. Police did not specify the nature of the threats.

Murphy was arrested and evaluated at the hospital, police said.

He was then charged with making a terroristic threat. A .45-caliber rifle was also removed from his home, police said.
