Handyman Shot, Killed In Newark

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A handyman was found shot to death this past weekend in Newark, N.J.

Michael A. Brown, 49, was found at 8:16 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Elizabeth Avenue in Newark, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's office. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, the office said.

He was taken to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:39 p.m. Sunday, authorities said.

The Prosecutor's office said Brown was a handyman, but did not indicate whether he was on the job at the time of the deadly shooting.

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force was investigating Monday.
