Warrant Out For Suspect In Newark Shooting That Killed Man, Wounded Woman

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Authorities issued a warrant Tuesday for a suspect in a New Year's Eve shooting that left a man dead and a woman injured.

Jihad Latham, 20, of Newark, was charged with the broad-daylight slaying of Efrahim Kinchen, also 20, of Newark and with shooting the 33-year-old woman, who survived, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's office.

The office did not specify the woman's present condition.

The shooting happened at Broad and South streets in Newark at 1:22 p.m. on Dec. 31, the office said.

Bail for Latham in the warrant was set at $1 million.
