Police: Foul Play Not Suspected After Woman's Body Found Outside Massapequa Home

MASSAPEQUA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - Police are investigating after a fully clothed woman's body was found in the bushes of a Massapequa home on Thursday.

Contractor Ben Groel was repairing the dock behind the home at 27 Ocean Avenue when he heard rushing water.

"Outside when I was looking on the front lawn for the main and I just looked up, I saw knees, shoes and then I saw the body. I thought it was fake at first, but it was real," Groel told WCBS 880's Marla Diamond.

"Very preliminarily, there does not appear to be any foul play in this death," Nassau County Police Inspector Kenneth Lack told Diamond.

The million-dollar waterfront home severely damaged in superstorm Sandy was recently sold and the closing was to take place on Friday, Diamond reported.
