Newark Doctor Takes Pride In His Roots

A doctor born and raised in Newark is going back to his roots to uplift his community.

Dr. Sampson Davis may be a familiar face. He's one of the three doctors who gained national attention several years ago for making a pact with two high school friends to go to medical school and become doctors. All three, raised by single moms, accomplished what they set out to do.

Now, Dr. Sampson Davis' life has come full circle. He's working in the emergency room of the hospital he was born in.

His new book, Living And Dying In Brick City, takes us through the ups and downs of it all.

He visited The Couch to tell us his story in his own words.
