4 Days, 5 Deaths Or Injuries On Subway

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Another person was struck and killed on a subway train Friday night, bringing the total number of subway accidents up to five for just this week.

In the latest incident, a man was killed by a southbound No. 2 train at the 34th Street-Penn Station stop, police told 1010 WINS.

That was the fifth incident in four days.

On Wednesday, a man was hit and killed by an F train at the Roosevelt Avenue-74th Street station in Jackson Heights, Queens, and another man was hurt after falling onto the tracks at the 59th Street-Columbus Circle station.

On Thursday, another person was hit and killed by an F train at the Briarwood-Van Wyck Boulevard, also in Queens, according to published reports. And on Friday morning, a man was hit by a No. 1 train at the 86th Street stop on the Upper West Side.

Published reports indicated that the incidents on the F train were both suicides.
