Carroll Gardens Woman Pronounced Dead After Being Found Unconscious, Investigation Underway

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- Authorities are investigating the death of a Brooklyn woman who was found unconscious on Saturday.

A neighbor found Elizabeth Borst, 55, inside of her Carroll Gardens home, she was suffering from head trauma, according to investigators.

The woman was rushed to Long Island College Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

The woman often left her front door unlocked, according to neighbors. Police are awaiting an autopsy report.
