Nanuet Man Accused Of Making Death Threats Against Politicians Remains In Federal Custody
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Rockland County man accused of threatening prominent politicians on Facebook has been ordered held without bail by a federal judge on Tuesday.
Lawrence Mulqueen, of Nanuet, is accused of making death threats against Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Sen. Charles Schumer, Rep. Nita Lowey, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Harry Reid and members of the Congressional Black Caucus, according to police.
Mulqueen's court-appointed defense lawyer Susanne Brody did not ask for bail, telling the judge she needs more time.

Brody said her client is broke and may be suffering from delusions. She said that she will seek a mental evaluation for him.
Mulqueen was still in his orange Rockland County jail jumpsuit, though he is now being held in federal prison.
Federal prosecutors argued that Mulqueen provided his like-minded Facebook friends with a how-to on the most effective weapons to use in carrying out death threats, WCBS 880's Alex Silverman reported.
"Their dirt nap is coming very soon," Mulqueen allegedly wrote on Facebook.
The 49-year-old faces charges of making terroristic threats, illegally possessing weapons and harassment.
Mulqueen told the judge he is "an alcoholic by nature'' and did not enter a plea.
Police arrested Mulqueen last Wednesday after a report from his landlord, who said he'd had been harassing her.
Two rifles, bayonets, ammunition, a sword, knife and body armor were recovered at Mulqueen's home, police said.
Mulqueen could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
