Police ID Body Found Inside Barrel In Harlem Apartment
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The body found stuffed in a barrel inside a Harlem apartment over the weekend has been identified as a 19-year-old woman.
Police on Wednesday identified the victim as Francis Angelica Alfonso Pellerano.
Officers were called to investigate a report of a foul odor at Pellerano's Seventh Avenue apartment building on Saturday night.
When police arrived at her apartment, they found Pellerano unconscious and unresponsive inside the barrel. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The incident has been re-classified as a homicide after the medical examiner determined Pellerano sustained multiple stab wounds to the body.
No arrests have been made.
